How to Streamline Your Weekend Using the 7 To-Dos Checklist

Our weekend checklist is streamlined into 7 to-dos.

To truly take ahold of the weekend and really get all you can out of it, it’s best to make a weekend checklist and jot down what needs to happen, what you’d like to happen, and to leave room for some spontaneity. 

Now, if you’ve been at work all week, you might just want to do a big nothing. And just hang out and chill. That actually sounds like a great idea. If that’s the best way for you to recharge after a long, bustling week, then I say, do you! 🙂

For those seeking inspiration and ideas for a weekend filled with some fun, relaxation and a little productivity, we’ve compiled a short list to get you started! The main 7 categories (or to-dos) to make sure you fill yourself up with #allthegood things and prepare for a successful week ahead:

  1. FOOD: You’ll get ahead for the week by setting up what you and your family will eat for the week (even if you prep just one meal).
  2. MIND: You’ll nourish your mind with bookish goodness.
  3. OUTSIDE: Get outside, because nature heals and helps reinvigorate your mind, body and soul.
  4. FUN: Doing something fun, that’s a little outside of the box for you, will bring expansion and much needed relief.
  5. RELAX: Well, you’ll relax and that’s GREAT!
  6. DREADFUL TASK: You’ll be so grateful to your past self for doing it and freeing up some time during the week.
  7. LOVE: Love may be last on this list, but it’s the most important one. Love on your family, love on your friends, spend that much needed time with the people you love the most (if they’re in town)!

Below is an expanded example list that I might use: 

  • FOOD: Prep food ideas and make a couple of dishes for the week
  • MIND: Read some chapters from my current book read (The Lazy Genius Way)
  • OUTSIDE/FUN: Go to the Huntington Botanical Gardens with friends
  • RELAX: Catch up on a couple of tv shows (NETFLIX: Running Point / APPLE TV+: Severance)
  • DREADED TASK: SEO homework for the site
  • LOVE: Some one-on-one time with the hubs!

Add or subtract, combine items, or just change it up! This list is a guide and here to enhance your time, because time is precious.
