It’s the last day of Women’s History Month. I want to highlight sisterhood and how we can hone it and cultivate it throughout the year!
Sisterhood is a constant but it’s also ever-evolving. As a mother who’s trying to find new mom friends, I know first hand how hard it can be to meet and keep great friends with similar interests… who are engaging, supportive, and just fun to be around!
You might be in the group of women, who’ve been blessed, to have childhood friends who are like your sisters. And some of you are still figuring out your new ‘normal,’ with life changes and how that affects your relationships.
Listen, I know who we are.
We are unique, we are resilient, we are powerful. We are dreamers, doers, changemakers.
Step into your authentic self, gather the women who uplift you, and create the lasting friendships you’ve been seeking, now!
Here’s how to begin:
You’re a force to be reckon with, and your voice and truth are powerful.
There is only one you. Through your life, you are making a way for other girls and women to achieve more… and be more. More than what they might have been told or how the world has tried to shape them.
Embrace the power you have — and your inspiring story that you bring to those around you and to the world.
When you embrace who you are and step into your authentic self, you end up opening a door for others to walk through. You subconsciously become a magnet attracting the right friends for you into your own life. You unknowingly empower the women around you, as well, to be their authentic selves.
Remove the façade and the statue you helped build.
Deeply rooted in your core, I believe, is a desire to thrive, to be free and to be who you are truly meant to be within this beautiful world. A deep desire to heal, so you can soar high toward your purpose.
Brick by brick, break down those life barriers and untruths that were whispered to you since you were young. Everyday, take a step toward shattering the illusion and a step toward healing, as best you can.
Life is about connection. Some people find their community and sisterhood through devastating circumstances, others find theirs through the most triumphant times of their lives. Leave the pathway open. Be open.
Some of you are blessed to have your crew already — some of you are still trying to find yours. For those of you still seeking, pave the path and stay on path.
Sisterhood is beautiful. Your soul sisters are there for you, you will find each other — and once you do, don’t let them go.
There’s nothing quite like a group of women, together, uplifting one another. We all go through trying times and life is inevitably a rollercoaster ride, full of pain and heartache.
But what a gift it is to find those women who understand you, empathize with you. Women you can learn from. A group of beautiful souls that share the same common goal — to better their lives and those around them. Open yourself up to the beauty of connection.
Be honest and real. Healing is a process but let the fellowship help you through it. Show up and be present. We all need a good support system.
Now is the time to create the space for valuable friendships.
Friendships from all types of women from various backgrounds that can help elevate us — and to help us see a different perspective — are vital.
And the wonderful thing about sisterhood, is the support is a constant. If anything, it allows us to fully step into our own power a bit more, instilling a more profound level of confidence.
When you find your soul sisters, the family you chose and the family that chose you — listen to one another. Check in with your girls — often. And always, always celebrate each other. We all need pillars in our lives and cheerleaders.
You are but a drop in the vastness of the world — but look at what a drop of many can do!
Find your crew and cultivate it, nourish it, celebrate it — through the healing and the joys.
How are you cultivating the relationships you’re seeking? Let me know here or on IG!
Believing in your victory!
– Jess
